On June 24, 2008 the campaign
"Sertsa Zhyve" ("The Heart Lives On") was launched in Belarus.
Its purpose is to raise €350 000 for Mikhail Laryn * who needs a heart transplant abroad. Every week popular Belarusian music artists post their exclusive tracks on the web site
serca.tut.by. Anyone can download them for free. The leader of the popular Belarusian band J:mors Vladimir Pugach put up his guitar for auction. We took part in the auction and won. Last week Vladimir presented his guitar to STA Logistic.Funds that we have managed to raise in the company were transferred to Mikhail’s account.
We hope that the initiative of the Belarusian band J:mors will be followed by that coming from other companies and individuals.
* 23-year-old Mikhail Laryn is from Minsk. He has a terrible diagnosis – dilated cardiomyopathy. This heart disease presupposes myocard regenerating into connective tissues. As a result the heart turns into a bag with blood which it cannot pump any more. Two years ago Mikhail’s twin-brother died of the disease. Mikhail needs an operation that cannot be performed in Belarus. Mikhail’s twin-brother didn’t live to the operation. Mikhail still has a chance!
